Iron Lung is a psychological thriller and monster horror movie that originally started as a game created by David Szymanski. You can view his games on Steam here: David Szymanski. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic universe where an event called the Quiet Rapture caused all the stars and planets to vanish. This leaves the survivors on space ships desperate for supplies and answers. The movie follows a convict named Simon, played by Markiplier, who is sent welded into a submarine to explore a desolate moon's ocean of blood.
This movie was Markiplier's first, and was completely self funded by him. He acted, directed, produced, and edited the film. Iron Lung was released on January 30th to over 4000 theaters world wide. It had started with only 50, and was expanded through fan requests.
I have been a fan of Markiplier for over 10 years. He is charming and inspiring, and is not afraid to be himself. When I heard he was making this movie, I was so excited. I am happy to report that I was not disappointed. Some of my favorite things about it were:
